A SWEET PIZZA?

What if a pizza turned into a dessert?

Maybe Italians are squirming with the idea, but I, who love an easy, quick and delicious dessert, found the idea amazing! In my endless researches through the realm of Pinterest, I saw hundreds of cool ideas, each one looking better than the last, and i decided to create my own version.

This recipe is ideal to take to a picnic, for a snack with family, friends, for those festive days when we have so much to do in such a short amount of time, and all we want is to impress with the desserts table. Compliments are guaranteed!

If you like pizza, it is already halfway to enjoy this dessert. And once again, this is a super versatile recipe, where the combinations are practically endless and we can have a lot of fun while we put it together.

THIS RECIPE IS:

SWEET | FUNNY | EASY | QUICK | VERSATILE | FESTIVE | DELICIOUS

For this recipe you will only need to make the base dough (which is super simple to make), bake it, and at the end add all the toppings. I’m really turning your life easier, don’t I?

I used a chocolate and hazelnut cream that I’m in love with, which is Bett’r Hazelnut Cocoa Spread. Made with organic ingredients and 100% plant based, this spread is gluten free and palm oil free. For you to have an idea, this spread is made only with hazelnuts, coconut sugar, coconut oil, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, coconut flour and sunflower lecithin.

And yes, it is a yummy, creamy and irresistible spread! The ideal alternative to that chocolate and hazelnut spread we are all familiar with. And let go of that super wrong idea that being healthier is not so yummy, proof of this is this spread.

I chose to combine the hazelnut spread with fresh berries and natural soy yoghurt. How good this is, you will only know after doing it at your house.

Melted vegan butter

FOR THE TOPPINGS

Bett’r’s Hazelnut Cocoa Spread

Strawberries

Blueberries

Raspberries

Unsweetened soy yogurt (or other at your choice)

Instructions:

1- Start by making the dough. Put the flour and the yeast on to a clean work surface and make a well in the middle.

2- In a bowl, mix the salt, the sugar and the olive oil with 200gr of warm water.

3- Put the mixture into the little hole that you have made with the flour and the yeast.

4- Use a fork to bring the flour in gradually from the sides and mix it into the liquid. Keep mixing and when it all starts to come together, work the rest of the flour with your hands. Knead until you have a smooth and springy dough.

5- Place the ball of dough in a large flour-dusted bowl and cover it with a small kitchen towel. Place it in a warm room until the dough rise a bit.

6- Pre-heat the oven to 180ºC.

7- While the dough rises and the oven heats up, wash the fruit and slice the strawberries.

8- Now it’s time to open the dough. Take your dough and open it preferably with your hands. This way the pizza base will be higher and fluffier and with thicker edges. Also it will have a more rustic and appetizing appearance. Once opened, place it in a pizza baking tray or on a common oven base.

9- Brush the base with melted butter and sprinkle a little sugar on top. Bake it for about 17 minutes. If during this time the dough rises in the center, open the oven and pierce this area with a fork to lower it again.

10- As soon as you remove the base from the oven, immediately cover it with the hazelnut cream, this way it will melt and spread more easily.

11- Add the berries and finish with some yogurt on top.

12- The pizza is ready to be served. You can serve it freshly made and still hot or you can let it cool a little. Whichever you choose, the result will always be delicious.
